About Laverne

Founded by Laverne Wilson - Valis, Elder Friends Concierge Services was born out of a desire to provide a safe, trustworthy senior concierge service geared towards elderly individuals looking to maintain their independence for as long as possible. “Having had extensive experience with my ailing father and other family members, I created a professional, reliable, and efficient home care assistance firm with tailored support. From my experiences, I believe that aging in place by living in one’s own home for as long as possible is paramount to an independent, healthy lifestyle. As I juggled my own life, I needed to be there to support my parents with everyday tasks, things that were just no longer easy for them to do. Thus, Elder Friends was born.”

Laverne holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management from SUNY Farmingdale, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from St. Joseph’s University, and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from St. John’s University.

She has received a certification in Personal Concierge from the esteemed International Association of Professional Career College, is a certified Senior Home Specialist under the Age Safe America Organization, and is a certified NYS General Topics Instructor. Staying true to her motto, “Onward, Upward and Beyond,” Laverne continues her education at Cornell University in Senior Living Care Management.

Laverne is an Experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the individual and family services industry. In addition, I am skilled in Operations Management, Public Speaking, and Leadership.
